Add an action for a safety risk

  • Add an action to address an identified risk or implement control measures necessary to improve workplace safety. You can add multiple actions for a hazard or control measure.

    Before you begin

    Role required: sn_hs_rm.risk_assessment_manager or sn_hs_rm.risk_assessment_writer

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Workspaces > Health and Safety Workspace.
    2. Select the risk management icon (Risk assessment icon) to open the Risk assessment list.
    3. Create an action from a risk assessment record or the Risk actions list.
      OptionSteps
      From a Risk assessment record (Scheduled actions)
      1. Select the Risk assessments list and then All.
      2. In the list, open a risk assessment.
      3. In the Action schedules tab, set up actions for the risk assessment.

      The action schedule creates actions in the Risk actions tab and auto-assigns them to individuals using the condition builder.

      From the Risk actions list
      1. Select the Risk actions list and then All.
      2. Select New.
      3. On the form, fill in the fields.

      4. Select Save.

    Result

    • If associated with a risk assessment, the action appears in the list of actions in the Risk actions tab of that assessment. The action is also listed in the Risk actions list on Health and Safety Workspace.
    • The action appears in the assigned user's My Tasks list on both the Employee Center and the Now Mobile app. From either location, the user can respond to the action and update its status.

    What to do next

    If needed, you can share the action, independent of the risk, with other groups or agents, so that they can prevent the similar hazard from happening at any of their locations. To share an action, select Copy action.
    • The action is duplicated and appears in the My Tasks list of the assigned user on the Employee Center.
    • The action is also listed in the Actions list on the Health and Safety Workspace.
