Enter Legal Tracker details and submit for integration

  • As a task fulfiller, enter the details in the Legal Tracker section of the outside counsel engagement request.

    About this task

    When you submit an outside counsel request, you can choose to fill in the Legal Tracker details later by selecting Create a task for entering Legal Tracker field details. On approval of the outside counsel request, a task is created to fill in the Legal Tracker details. Enter the Legal Tracker details and submit for integration.     Role required:
    • sn_lg_ops.legal_user and sn_lg_cf_workspace.legal_workspace_user
    • sn_lg_matter.matter_fulfiller
    • sn_lg_ops.legal_fulfiller

    Procedure

    1. Open a legal matter task.

      Using Legal Counsel Center homepage
      1. Navigate to All > Legal Request > Legal Counsel Center
      2. Select the View All option on the Matter tasks widget.
      3. From the list, open a legal matter task.
      4. Select the Open Record icon (Open Record icon) in the Outside Counsel Engagement field.
      5. Navigate to the Legal Tracker Details section.
      Using Legal Counsel Center lists
      1. Navigate to All > Legal Request > Legal Counsel Center
      2. Select the list icon (List icon).
      3. In the Lists tab, navigate to Matter Tasks > My Tasks.
      4. From the list, open a legal matter task.
      5. Select the Open Record icon (Open Record icon) in the Outside Counsel Engagement field.
      6. Navigate to the Legal Tracker Details section.
      Using platform view
      1. Navigate to All > Legal Matter > Matter Tasks > My Tasks
      2. From the list, open a legal matter task.
      3. Select the Preview this record icon (Preview this record) in the Outside Counsel Engagement field.
      4. Select Open Record.
      5. Navigate to Legal Tracker Details related list.
    2. Fill in the Legal Tracker details.
    3. Select Save.
    4. Select Submit for Integration to create matter in Legal Tracker.
      During the matter creation, errors can be reported for the data related to outside counsel engagement request or Legal Tracker details section or both. For more information, see Resolve errors during matter creation.

    Result

    On successful integration, access permission is granted to the following users for the matter created in Legal Tracker.
    • Matter Owner - User selected as owner of the legal matter.
    • Practice Area leads - Users selected as practice area leads for the practice area on the legal matter, to whom the Outside Counsel Engagement request approval is sent.
    • Requested for - User for whom the outside counsel engagement request is submitted.
    • Lead Outside Counsel – User selected as lead counsel of the associated Lead firm.
    • Lead company person - User selected as lead of the organization who should coordinate with the outside counsel.
    • #2 company person - User selected as alternative contact person in the absence of the Lead company person.
