Create VIs for CVEs for exposure assessment

Create vulnerable items (VIs) from the Exposure Assessment page. Vulnerability event managers then analyze this list of VIs and recommend solutions and patches that help the IT team to patch these vulnerabilities.

Pourquoi et quand exécuter cette tâche

After the exposure is assessed, the list for the potential assessment is displayed on the exposure assessment record with the configuration items (CIs) count. You can select the records and in the list action, select Create Vulnerable items to create vulnerable items (VIs) for the CIs where the vulnerable software is present and on the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs). VIs are created in the background. This process might take some time. After the items are created, you can navigate to the VI table to view the records created.

Procédure

1. Navigate to Workspaces > Vulnerability Assessment Workspace > Exposure Assessment > Assess by CVE.
2. Select the required CVEs and select the Create Vulnerable Items option.
3. In the Create vulnerable items dialog box, select the Create vulnerable items option.
4. Select the View status link to view the status of the background job used to create the VIs.
