  • You can configure the documentation section of a business continuity plan in a structured format. You can describe high level details of the plan such as its purpose, scope, coverage areas, goals, and success criteria.

You can document the details of your business continuity plan in separate documentation sections. You can view the pre-configured documentation sections in the General Administration section of the Business Continuity Management application.

When a business continuity plan is created, it populates one or more documentation sections that are selected in the plan template.

The Business Continuity Management application provides the documentation sections that you are installed with the demo data in the plan template:
    • BCP-Assumptions
    • BCP-Objectives
    • BCP-Scope
    • BIA-Overview
    • SN-BCP Checklist
    • SN-Overview

A sample Business Continuity Plan template with the SN-Overview and SN-Checklist document sections is shown in the example.

Creating a documentation section for your business requirement

If you have the BCM administrator role, you can use the documentation section template listed in General Administration for creating a documentation section. To configure a documentation section by using the documentation section template, see Configure documentation section.
    Note:
When you create a documentation section in the Documentation tab without using the plan template, the Reset to template UI action is not available for that documentation section.

You can also create a documentation section on the Documentation tab in the Business Continuity Workspace. You can use the Create new section UI action for creating a documentation section as shown in the example.Create new section UI action.

For more information on creating a documentation section for your business plan in the Business Continuity Workspace, see Create documentation sections.
