  • Elevate a project risk to an enterprise risk if the project risk has an impact on the enterprise.

    Before you begin

    Role required: it_project_manager or sn_grc.business_user

    About this task

If you find that a project risk has an impact on the enterprise, then you can elevate the project risk to an enterprise risk. After a risk is elevated, the project risk is automatically copied to the enterprise risk register. An elevated risk needs an assessment on the enterprise impact. The enterprise risk is always connected to the project risk. If a project risk is retired, then the enterprise risk also gets retired.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to All > Project > Projects > All.
    2. Select the project for risk assessment.
    3. Select the assessed risk that you want to elevate.
    4. In the related links, click Elevate to Enterprise Risk.
      Note:
The assessor is predefined in the Assessor field. The value in this field is obtained from the Project Integration Configuration form.
    5. In the Approver field, select an approver.
    6. Click Submit.

    Result

A new risk assessment is generated for enterprise risk assessment. The assessment is sent to the enterprise risk assessor.

    What to do next

Based on the assessors identified as the enterprise assessors in the Project Integration Configuration form, the enterprise risk manager gets a notification to assess the risk from an enterprise risk perspective. The steps to perform the risk assessment are the same as given in Assess project risks using Advanced Risk Assessment.
