Summary of Associating an AI-recommended citation to an open regulatory alert
ServiceNow’s GRC: Predictive Intelligence application leverages AI and machine learning (ML) to automatically suggest citations to associate with open regulatory alerts. Traditionally, citations—specific requirements from authority documents such as laws and regulations—were manually downloaded or created within Compliance Workspace. Now, a similarity solution model trained on relevant data can recommend citations based on a confidence score, indicating the likelihood of a correct match. This streamlines compliance teams’ efforts to evaluate incoming regulatory alerts for applicability to their organization.

Users with the sncomplianceadmin role are responsible for training the solution definition after installing the Predictive Intelligence application and managing data refresh frequencies. Users with the mladmin role can customize the solution based on citation and regulatory feed data tables. This AI-driven approach enhances the accuracy and efficiency of compliance mapping within ServiceNow’s GRC environment.
Key benefits
- Improved regulatory compliance mapping: Automatically linking citations to regulatory alerts facilitates more effective and accurate reporting.
- Reduced manual effort: Compliance teams spend less time identifying and mapping relevant citations to incoming alerts, accelerating response and analysis.

Overview of associating a citation to a regulatory alert
A citation is a passage or an expression from an authority document that your business must comply with. It’s an individual requirement within an authority document.
The Governance, Risk, and Compliance: Predictive Intelligence application uses AI and ML to make the GRC application adding citations smarter. These suggestions are based on a confidence score that is based on the recommended citation.
A user with the sn_compliance_admin role must train the solution definition after they install the GRC: Predictive Intelligence application with its dependencies. A user with the ml_admin role can also customize the solution definition. This modification is based on the data in the
[sn_complaince_citation] and the [sn_grc_reg_change_reg_feed] table. If you have the sn_compliance_admin role, you can select how frequently you want to refresh the data that you use to
retrieve your similarity results. For more information about solution definitions, see Similarity solution definitions.
