Create a Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) or Collaborative Work Management (CWM) work item using recommendations and initiatives for faster execution and actionable goals.

## Work items overview {#creating-work-items-using-recommendations-and-initiatives__section_f3l_rpl_zfc}

Work items enable the automatic conversion of impact entities into actionable items. Using work items eliminates manual
coordination across systems, reduces fragmented workflows, avoids inefficiencies, presents delays in leveraging valuable insights, and duplicate efforts.

You can use the Impact Workspace to convert impact squad recommendations, free-form recommendations, or initiatives, and
product adoption roadmaps into SPM or CWM work items such as:

* Product Idea
* Demand
* Project
* Story
* Epic
* Feature
* Collaborative Work Management (CWM) Board

The Work Items page displays a centralized view of existing Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) or Collaborative Work Management (CWM) work items along with their Impact Source, State, Progress, and Status.
You can view the grouped view of various work items grouped under SPM Work Items and CWM Work items. Select Show All to display an expanded view of the work items under a specific group. For instance, selectingShow All for Initiatives under SPM Work Items displays all the existing SPM work items created using initiatives.Figure 1. Work Items view

You can search the work items on the Work Items page by using the search text box. You can also search for work items using filters like source, state, and status on the Work Items
page.

Select the Filter ![filter icon icon]() to add a filter and choose from impact source, state, progress, or status. Then select the corresponding values. For example, to filter by Source, select Source from the filter
options, and then choose one or more source types such as Recommendation, Initiative, or Product Adoption Roadmap from the displayed list.
