# Entitlements and usage using capabilities

# Entitlements and usage using capabilities {#ariaid-title1}

Release version: Brazil
Updated September 21, 2026
![](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/portal-asset/ico-clock) 1 minute to read
A capabilities map shows the products and capabilities available in your instance based on your entitlements. Use capabilities maps to understand what you have purchased and how to implement features.
Capabilities maps provide transparency into the products and capabilities purchased on the ServiceNow platform, with a comprehensive list of entitled products and capabilities. Each capability includes a description, users can
explore further for additional detail.

You obtain separate capabilities maps for each instance. When more than one instance is present, the system generates a capability map for each instance.
Note:
If a stakeholder group has been enabled, the capabilities map only displays those instances that are associated with a stakeholder group. In case there's an instance that isn't displayed in the capabilities map, confirm it's associated with a stakeholder group. See [Group Views](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/Ku3SoNDaA4GLh5meS~IYdA "Impact enables multiple stakeholder groups within your organization to lead their own digital transformation.") for more information on stakeholder groups. Capabilities maps are available in Impact Delivery Instance and Impact Store App from the Product Adoption menu.

If you have more than one instance, select an instance from the drop-down selection menu. The summary information displayed references the selected instance.

On the capabilities maps, see the entire list of applications and a summary of the capabilities based on the filters that you select. When you change the filter options, the data displayed in the map updates accordingly.

The Capability details page displays information for a capability including description, relevant product adoption guidance, and it's alignment to objectives. You can use the About section to view detailed
capability information to support informed decisions and Related accelerators to find relevant tools to help you implement and the capability. For more information, see [Capability details](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/wcK1rA2C72s_4ADj0in3UA "View the various details for a capability using the Capability details page.").

## Impact Delivery Instance and Impact Store integration for Capabilities Map {#capabilities-map__starter-experience-capabilities-map}

You can view a list of your entitled applications and associated usage status, and manually edit usage status, without an active integration between the Impact Delivery Instance and Impact Store Application using the Service Exchange connection.
Without the integration, the following areas of the capabilities map display an empty state and an empty-state icon:

* Overall usage status
* Recommended capabilities requiring your attention
{#capabilities-map__ul-starter-empty-states}

An active integration using Service Exchange is required for real-time data synchronization and to ensure seamless information flow between the Impact Delivery Instance and Impact Store Application.
