Learn about product adoption roadmaps, including template-based creation, collaborative planning, and roadmap locking behavior.

## Product adoption roadmap overview {#impact-par__section_lj2_vdg_ncc}

The product adoption roadmaps are available to Impact Advanced, Total and Guided users. Users can create a roadmap using predefined templates aligned to their business needs and products. For Advanced and Total users, the Impact squad collaborates with the customer to determine the optimal implementation sequence for their unique business needs. Once the squad creates the roadmap, the customer receives a notification.

Multiple users can view a product adoption roadmap simultaneously, but only one user can edit it at a
time. While a roadmap is being edited, it is locked for other users, who can see who is currently editing and reach out to collaborate or request that the roadmap be released.

Users with the Impact admin or platform owner role can unlock a locked roadmap. Unlocking discards all changes made in the current version and reverts the roadmap to its last published version.
You can access your created roadmaps in by selecting Product Adoption Roadmaps from the Product Adoption menu on the Impact home page. The complete product adoption roadmap experience requires integration between the Impact Delivery Instance and Impact Store App, enabled through Service Exchange, which synchronizes data between instances. If your environment isn't integrated, a banner displays indicating that full product adoption functionality is limited. You can create a new adoption map, but additional features like editing and viewing existing product adoption roadmaps are available once an integration is established. For more information, see

## Use cases {#impact-par__section_a1q_wdg_ncc}

You can explore your roadmap further and edit in the following ways:

* Select a capability card to view more details, including any adoption guidance.
* Add or remove phases.
* Manage capabilities for each phase.
* Connect capabilities to objectives.

Without an integration, you can create roadmaps but not open or edit existing ones. When no roadmaps exist, the Product adoption roadmaps page
appears empty and prompts you to create one.
