Create an automation project from a template

  • Create an automation project from the default automation templates that RPA Desktop Design Studio provides or the templates that you have designed on the RPA Desktop Design Studio and published to the RPA Hub. An automation template caters to a use case and provides a framework of automation.

    About this task

    The default templates that the RPA Desktop Design Studio provides are RPA Desktop Design Studio provides are Unattended Non-Transactional Workflow, Unattended Transactional Workflow, and Attended Workflow. Use these templates as a framework for your automation projects. You can also create an automation project and publish it to the RPA Hub as a template so that it's available as an automation framework.

    Procedure

    1. On the RPA Desktop Design Studio home page, select Create Automation.
    2. In the Build an automation window, select Build manually.
    3. Select Unattended Automation or Attended Automation.
    4. In the Name field, enter the name of the unattended or attended automation project.
    5. Optional: In the Description field, enter the description of the unattended or attended automation project.
    6. In the Location field, enter the location of the automation project or retain the default location.
      Ensure that the automation project file is in a separate folder. All the files and folders in the current project file location are published to the RPA Hub.
    7. Select Next.
    8. In the Do you want to select a template dialog box, select Select a template.
      The screen shows both the default templates that the RPA Desktop Design Studio provides and custom templates, if any. This template is built on the loaded plugin versions.
    9. Choose a template from the default templates.
    10. Select Create.
      The automation project is created.
