Use sample automations in RPA Desktop Design Studio

  • Use a sample automation, which is a prebuilt automation, that shows how different components are configured for a specific use case.

    Before you begin

    Set up the RPA Desktop Design Studio application and add the ServiceNow instance details. For more information, see Set up RPA Desktop Design Studio.

    About this task

    The RPA Desktop Design Studio provides multiple sample automations that cater to different use cases. For example, extracting data from a PDF and insert into an Excel file.

    The sample automations are classified into Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, References, and Attended categories based on the complexity and use cases of the automations.

    Procedure

    1. In the RPA Desktop Design Studio, from the Resources section, select Samples.
    2. To access the sample automations in the Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Reference, or Attended categories, perform the following tasks:
      1. In the Samples Explorer, expand any of those folders.
      2. Double-click the sample automation.
      3. Under the Design tab, select Run.
    3. To view the project files for the respective sample automation in the Advanced, Reference, or Attended categories, perform the following tasks:
      1. In the Samples Explorer, expand any of those folders.
      2. Double-click the sample automation.
      3. In the Resources section, select Project folder.
      4. Open the Readme file to view the detailed information of the sample automation and follow the instructions.
