ServiceNow Otto panel enhanced chat offers a dynamic conversational support experience featuring multiple active conversations and advanced search capabilities powered by generative AI. It enables agents to improve productivity by summarizing chats, cases, or incidents, generating resolution notes, requesting help, and more. The chat window is movable and resizable for user convenience, and skill detection uses the Now LLM Service. Full functionality requires AI Search to be enabled; otherwise, only basic conversational features are available.

Prerequisites
- Next Experience must be enabled.
- User must have the

- Assistants and voice input features require separate activation and configuration.

- Chat Window Controls: Expand to a 90% screen-size window, pin to screen, and access option buttons.
- Active and Closed Chats: Manage multiple chats with auto-closing after inactivity (configurable timeout), view chat history, and delete closed chats permanently.
- Chat Naming: Chat names are derived from initial utterances or promoted assets.
- New Chats and Feedback: Start new conversations, receive greeting prompts, and provide feedback on AI responses using like/dislike icons with optional detailed comments.
- Response Feedback: Feedback is collected and available in analytics; additional options include navigating to search results and copying messages.
- Agentic Conversations: When enabled, AI agents execute workflows and handle multiple questions or requests in a single interaction, with flow step visibility and ability to end ongoing flows.
- Navigation Requests: Users can navigate within the platform through chat commands without leaving the conversation.
- Chat and Record Summarization: Quickly obtain summaries of chats, cases, or incidents to avoid repeated information from requesters; commands are available for CSM, HRSD, and ITSM records.
- Conversational Help: The Get Help skill provides accurate answers and is accessible to all users entitled to Otto capabilities.
- Resolution Notes Generation: Easily generate detailed resolution notes from interactions via chat commands.
- Streaming Responses: Responses stream in real-time from multiple content sources, improving response speed and user experience.
- Fallback Options: When no search results are found or errors occur, a web search fallback option is available to retrieve information from the internet.

Use ServiceNow Otto panel enhanced chat to improve your productivity and efficiency by leveraging generative AI to perform tasks such as summarize a chat, case, or incident, request help, generate resolution notes, among others.
Agents can use the ServiceNow Otto panel enhanced chat to interact with and get assistance from generative AI. You can move the chat window by selecting the header and dragging the chat window to the desired location. You can resize the chat window by using the window's edges to resize to your desired size or use the toolbar icons.
Prerequisites
- Next Experience must be enabled. For more information, see Considerations for activating Next Experience.
- You must have the now_assist_panel_user role.
- Your role must be applied to at least one active ServiceNow Otto skill to use skills in the ServiceNow Otto panel.
- ServiceNow Otto panel enhanced chat must be activated before you can use it. See Activate ServiceNow Otto panel enhanced chat for more information.
- ServiceNow Otto skills must be enabled to appear on the ServiceNow Otto panel. For more information, see Generative AI skills.
- If you want to use assistants, you must activate them. See Activate Now Assist panel assistants for information on activating assistants.
- If you want to use voice input, you have to enable voice input Enable voice input for ServiceNow Otto panel. Note:Voice input is automatically activated when you activate the ServiceNow Otto panel. As of the Zurich Patch 4 release, voice input is configured in the Configure Next Experience accessibility preferences.

Let's get started by selecting the ServiceNow Otto icon to display the ServiceNow Otto panel.

Response feedback
Agentic conversations
When you ask a question to the ServiceNow Otto panel enhanced chat, the agent understands the query and begins a flow. When you submit a message with multiple questions or requests, ServiceNow Otto panel enhanced chat answers the multiple questions consecutively in its response. It can reason, plan, and execute across AI agents, ServiceNow Otto panel topics, conversational actions and subflows, catalogs, Knowledge Base articles, custom skills, and any ServiceNow Otto supported skills to help you. You receive on-screen messages to let you know where the agent is in the agentic processing flow prior to receiving the response. After the processing has completed its
flow, a View AI Steps section header appears, where the processing flow steps can be expanded and viewed. You can stop the agentic processing flow at any time by selecting the End flow icon (). After an action starts, it can't be stopped. Selecting the End flow icon only stops the proceeding processing
steps.
Navigating from the ServiceNow Otto panel
You can navigate from the ServiceNow Otto panel without leaving the current conversation by entering a navigation request in the Ask ServiceNow Otto to... field. If you enter "navigate me to active incidents," ServiceNow Otto displays a button that enables you to view the active incidents.
Chat summarization
Quickly learn the details of a chat by reading a chat summarization. The chat summarization gives you enough details about the chat so that your requester doesn't have to repeat the same information to you.
To generate a chat summarization from the ServiceNow Otto panel, select Chat Summarization or enter summarize chat in the Ask ServiceNow Otto to field.

Quickly learn the details of a case or incident by reading a case summarization. The summarization gives you enough details about the interaction so that your requester doesn't have to repeat the same information to you.
- For ServiceNow Otto for CSM, select Summarize record or enter summarize a record in the Ask ServiceNow Otto to field.
- For ServiceNow Otto for HRSD, select Summarize record or enter summarize a record in the Ask ServiceNow Otto to field.
- For ServiceNow Otto for ITSM, select Summarize incident or enter summarize an incident in the Ask ServiceNow Otto to field.
Conversation Help
Get specific and accurate answers to your queries by using the Get Help skill option on the ServiceNow Otto panel. This skill is available to everyone entitled to ServiceNow Otto capabilities.

Resolution notes generation
Quickly learn the details of how an interaction was resolved by generating and reading resolution notes.
To generate resolution notes from the ServiceNow Otto panel, select Generate resolutions notes or enter generate resolutions notes in the Ask ServiceNow Otto to field.
Streaming responses
After you enter a question or request on the ServiceNow Otto panel, ServiceNow Otto gathers information from Knowledge Base articles, external content, product documentation, catalog items, and workflows and combines them into a synthesized, comprehensive answer. Instead of waiting
for the entire message to render, the synthesized response streams in real time and stops streaming after the entire message has been delivered. An animated sparkle icon () appears while the response is generated and changes to the static sparkle icon after the response has fully loaded.
