## Key Features

* **Industry-specific Applications and Workspaces:**
  * Medical Asset Workspace for healthcare assets
  * Facility Asset Workspace for facilities assets
  * OT Asset Workspace for operational technology and equipment
  * Critical Environment Asset Workspace for data center and network infrastructure assets
* **Role-based Workspace Access:** Access to each workspace is controlled by specific roles such as asset manager, asset technician, enterprise admin, or system administrator. Users see and work only within their assigned industry workspace.
* **Role-based Visibility:** Industry-specific roles limit views to relevant asset and model categories by default, with read-only access to categories outside their industry if added by admins.
* **Asset Performance Reporting:** Evaluate asset effectiveness through KPIs and reports accessible in the Asset performance tab and contextual sidebar on asset records.
* **Unified Receiving Functionality:** Receive assets directly into stockrooms via single receipt, multiple shipments, or bulk import in any industry workspace.
* **Inventory Demand Reports:** Manage stockroom supply and demand using inventory insights available in all workspaces.
* **Admin Center Access:** Only Enterprise admins and System administrators can configure industry-specific workspace settings in the Admin center. Industry-specific managers and technicians have limited configuration rights related to Task and Labor rate cards.

## Practical Benefits

* Enables tailored asset and model management aligned with industry requirements
* Streamlines asset receipt and inventory management across industries
* Improves asset lifecycle insights with performance KPIs and reporting
* Supports governance and security through role-based access and visibility

## Workspace roles {#medical-facility-workspaces__section_axm_p1x_jbc}

The workspace that you can access depends on the role with which you log in to your ServiceNow instance. You can only view and work in the workspaces for which you have an assigned role.
{#medical-facility-workspaces__table_ck3_4kl_mbc__entry__2}

| Workspace | Role needed |

## Role-based visibility in workspaces {#medical-facility-workspaces__section_mxc_1ll_gjc}

When you log in with an industry-specific role, your workspace view is scoped to your industry by default. For example:

* If you're logged in as a medical asset manager or medical asset technician, you see only the medical asset category in the Medical asset estate view and the medical model category in the Medical model management view.
* If you're logged in as a facility asset manager or facility asset technician, you see only the facility asset category in the Facility asset estate view and the facility model category in the Facility model management view.
* If you're logged in as an OT asset manager or OT asset technician, you see only OT and OE asset and model categories in the OT asset estate view and OT model management view.
{#medical-facility-workspaces__ul_vf2_cll_gjc}

You may also see asset and model categories outside your industry if they were added by the Enterprise admin or System administrator. These categories are read-only --- you can't create or modify assets or models in them.

## Asset performance {#medical-facility-workspaces__section_yzq_jll_gjc}

You can evaluate how effectively your assets are functioning and being used through reports based on asset key performance indicators (KPIs) in the Asset performance tab of the Asset analytics view. The asset performance report is
also available on the contextual sidebar of the asset record, displayed by selecting the Asset availability and related KPIs icon ![](). For details, see [Asset performance reports in the Enterprise Asset Workspace](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/hvVMk5GAL~DzrsiroGBbvQ "Gain insights into the overall operational efficiency of your organization's enterprise assets by using the asset performance reports available in the Asset analytics view.").

## Unified receiving {#medical-facility-workspaces__section_k42_2ml_gjc}

You can receive assets from any workflow directly at the stockroom using the unified receiving functionality available in all industry-specific workspaces. You can receive assets in any of the following ways:

* Receive a single asset
* Receive multiple assets in a shipment
* Import assets in bulk and receive them
{#medical-facility-workspaces__ul_dph_hml_gjc}

For more details, see [Unified receiving](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/tgnqSk0mFhslSn73OOILbw "As an enterprise asset manager or enterprise asset technician, receive enterprise and consumable assets at stockrooms from any workflow at a centralized location on the stockroom form in the Enterprise Asset Workspace.").

## Inventory reports {#medical-facility-workspaces__section_o5q_pml_gjc}

You can manage supply and demand in your stockrooms effectively with inventory demand reports. Navigate to the Inventory insights tab in any stockroom to view the reports. For more details, see [Manage stockrooms with inventory reports](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/uckfQnkNH3uxsEqUc0XH5A "Track and manage stockrooms efficiently by evaluating the inventory reports in the Enterprise Asset Workspace.").

## Accessing the Admin center {#medical-facility-workspaces__section_fpx_vml_gjc}

Only the Enterprise admin role and the System administrator role can make configuration changes in the Admin center of any industry-specific workspace.

Industry-specific manager and technician roles can't make changes in the Admin center except for the Task rate card and Labor rate card options under the TCO configuration list.
