The ServiceNow platform uses a licensing method where your
organization is charged for using the IT Asset Management applications- ServiceNow
Software Asset Management.

Software Asset Management licensing enables you to pay for resource categories that you use. To calculate the cost, Software Asset Management uses Subscription Units. A Subscription Unit is a unit of measure used to Managed IT Resources using defined ratios. The customer value of managing different types of IT resources varies.
Subscription Units allows for a single unit price to be applied via ratios to those different IT resource type to reflect that varying customer value. To know more about managed IT resources and Subscription Unit ratios, see the
