    • Configure Discovery to lay the groundwork for AIOps success by establishing a key foundation for your team.

    Before you begin

    Verify that the ITOM AIOps and Now Assist for IT Operations Management plugins are installed.

    Ensure you're in the Configure IT Operations Management page.

    About this task

    Discovery serves as the source of truth for your IT operations by automatically identifying, mapping, and cataloging all IT infrastructure components and their relationships within an organization's technology ecosystem. This configuration enables faster root cause analysis, improved impact assessment of alerts, and reduced operational noise.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Configuration Summary > Event Management > Platform foundations.
    2. Expand Platform foundations.
    3. Select Discovery.
    4. Select Configure Discovery.

      If the Discovery plugin is installed, the system takes you to the Assign Discovery Admins page where you can assign users to the discovery admin role (discovery_admin). If the Discovery plugin is not installed, you're directed to the IT Operations Management page where you need to install the ITOM Visibility plugin, which also installs the Discovery plugin automatically.

    5. To complete the setup, select Mark as configured.
