# Change flows

# Change flows {#ariaid-title1}

Release version: Brazil
Updated September 10, 2026
![](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/portal-asset/ico-clock) 1 minute to read
The Change Management Change flows provide a library of reusable actions and
end-to-end implementations of the Change models provided in the base system.

Starting with the Yokohama release, the new base system flows replace the existing workflows for Change Management. However, you can continue to create custom workflows or use the existing ones. To migrate your existing workflows to flows, check the new base system flows available in Workflow Studio for guidance. For any new requirements, use flows.
You can use ServiceNow® Workflow Studio to create, operate, and troubleshoot flows. Workflow Studio is a single interface that provides:

* Natural language descriptions.
* Runtime information.
* Consolidated configuration.
{#change-flows__ul_fcg_1ps_f4b}

The provided flows are read-only to confirm that they can be upgraded. To change the behaviour of these flows, copy the read-only flow and then deactivate it. You do not need to contact Support to deactivate an out-of-box change
flow. Deactivating the read-only flow ensures that only the copied flow is triggered.

You can deactivate an out-of-box change flow directly after you copy it, without logging a support case. To activate the change flows in the base system, contact Support to request activation. For more information on the plugin
activation, see [Activate Change Management - Change Flows](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/MQ4saZn5fOZZlkWEtdUOcA "You can activate the Change Management - Change Model Foundation Data (com.snc.change_management.change_model.foundation) plugin if you have the admin role. This plugin includes demo data and activates related plugins if they are not already active.")

.

By default, these Change flows are provided:
