Assign skills after completing an assessment

Automatically assign skills to trainees for specific skill levels based on the course items they have completed. For example, if a trainee completes the course items for learning Japanese at an expert level, then the skill level 'expert' can be assigned to the trainee.

About this task

You can associate skills with coaching opportunities, coaching assessments, or course items. When a trainee completes a coaching assessment, you can automatically assign the skill the trainee has acquired during that coaching opportunity.

The coaching assessments generated from coaching opportunities award the skills to the trainee after the assessment is complete. If the assessment is configured to include assigned course items, the skills associated with course items are also added to the assessments.

Procedure

1. Associate skills with coaching assessment or opportunities.

   Associate skills with coaching opportunities	Navigate to Coaching > Coaching Opportunities. Select the record for which you want to associate a skill and skill level. In the Skills Awarded on Assessment Completion related list, select New. In the Skill field, select the lookup icon and select the skill to associate with this opportunity. In the Skill level field, select the lookup icon and select the skill level for this opportunity.
   Associate skills with coaching assessments	Navigate to Coaching > Coaching Assessments Select the record for which you want to associate a skill and skill level. In the Skills Awarded by Assessment related list, select New. In the Skill field, select the lookup icon and select the skill to associate with this assessment. In the Skill level field, select the lookup icon and select the skill level for this assessment. When the assessment is complete, the skill is automatically added for the trainee.
   Associate skills with course items	Navigate to Coaching > Course Items Select the record for which you want to associate a skill and skill level. In the Skills Awarded on Assessment Completion related list, select New. In the Skill field, select the lookup icon and select the skill to associate with this training. In the Skill level field, select the lookup icon and select the skill level for this course item.

2. Select Submit.
   You can navigate to the All Awarded Skills related list in a Coaching Assessments record for a trainee to view all skills to be awarded for that trainee. The Source field displays whether the award came from an opportunity, assessment, or training.
