    Before you begin

    Role required: sn_devops.admin

    About this task

You can add custom fields to a planning tool integration by using record transformers. Create record transformers for each tool action, and add record transformer rules to map fields in your tool to fields in the DevOps data model. For example, consider a scenario where the Azure DevOps work item Id is defined as "adoid" during the import process. If you want to align it with the ServiceNow work item Id, you can achieve this by creating a record transformer for the import action. Within this transformer, you must establish rules to map the "adoid" field to the corresponding ServiceNow work item Id field. After the field mapping is created, every time an inbound event is received from Azure DevOps to bring in work items, the data will be processed through the configured transformer into the transformed payload.
    Note:
This feature is available only for the base system plan type tool integrations except for ServiceNow Agile Development 2.0.

    2. Select Integrations > Tool integrations from the Lists tab.
