During the onboarding process, when there's no application listed to be monitored, you can begin by accessing a list of available applications. You can also add your own custom applications and enable them for monitoring
along with any existing applications.

## Before you begin

To add an application to be monitored, verify you have completed the following tasks:

* [Create an ACC registration key](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/daTdrcC1k0RcmSpwnJQs~w "Set up an Agent Client Collector (ACC) by creating an agent registration key to identify and authenticate agents that are enabled to send data to the collector. The key helps promote the security and integrity of the data collected from the system.")
* Install ACC:
  * [Install ACC for DEX on Windows](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/XFmgyhMjdWyqiqt0MZRweA "Install Agent Client Collector (ACC) to work with Digital End-User Experience (DEX) to monitor and collect data, provide insights into system performance, identify issues, and enable proactive maintenance.")
  * [Install ACC for DEX on macOS](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/tqYzXi8_OnMytkXKnTJKng "Install Agent Client Collector (ACC) to monitor and collect data in a centralized and organized manner, provide insights into system performance, identify issues, and enable proactive maintenance.")
