# Map a card to a section

# Map a card to a section {#ariaid-title1}

Map cards to sections to specify which cards appear under each section in the Desktop Assistant home page, and the order in which they are displayed.

## Before you begin

Confirm
that the DEX
Desktop Assistant \[sn_dex_desktop\] application has been installed. For more information, see [Install Application and Device Health](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/3Ei~nK2qqh_Lci8rn9XW7A "Digital End-User Experience (DEX) is available with activation of the Digital End-User Experience [sn_dex] plugin. You must have the admin role to install the DEX product [sn_dex]. During installation, Application and Device Health is included as a component in DEX.") and [Download and install Desktop Assistant](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/dI4Ux4b0gNBb2xc~OSTTmw "Download and install Desktop Assistant by using operating system-specific installer commands, Desktop Assistant installers, or endpoint management solutions.").

Role required: sn_dex_desktop.admin

By default, Desktop Assistant provides: My resources and Quick links.

## Procedure

1. Navigate to Desktop AssistantConfigurationHome.
2. Select the name of the home page.
3. Select the application scope.
   1. Select the globe icon ![]() on the top navigation bar.
   2. Select Application scope and then select DEX Desktop Assistant from the drop-down list.
4. In the Tab to Section Mappings section of the Desktop Assistant Tab page, select the section to which you want to map the card.
5. In the Section to Card Mappings section of the Desktop Assistant Section page, select New.
6. On the Section to Card Mapping form, add the card name.
   1. In the Desktop Assistant Card field, select the Lookup using list icon ![]().
   2. Select the card.
7. In the Order field, enter a number to specify the position of the card within the section.
8. Select Submit.
