Set up file management

  • Set up files you want to track and manage with DEX on your organization devices. For example, you can identify and remove any dangerous .exe files that pose a security risk.

    Before you begin

    Role required: admin

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Workspaces > Service Operations Workspace.
    2. In the primary navigation pane, select the DEX Administration icon ().
    3. Select Configure on the File management card.
    4. On the File management page, select Add files.
    5. In the Add files form, enter a file name and select one of the following categories for the file:
      • Application
      • Malicious
      • Security
      • Development tools
      • System
      • Others
      • Installers
      • Potentially Unwanted Programs
      Note:
      Files you want to monitor must end in .exe. The maximum character limit for the file name is 256 characters, including the .exe extension.
    6. Add one or more files by selecting Add.
      You can manage up to 20 files.
    7. Select Save.

    Result

    The data for the files you set up appears after the next policy run.
