Test network connectivity of your device

  • Test your device's network connectivity to evaluate its performance. If the performance is below average, running a speed test helps diagnose if the issue is with your device or your Internet service provider.

    Before you begin

    Confirm that the DEX Desktop Assistant [sn_dex_desktop] application has been installed. For more information, see Install Application and Device Health and Download and install Desktop Assistant.

    Role required: sn_dex_desktop.user or sn_dex_desktop.admin

    Procedure

    1. Log in to Desktop Assistant.
      For more information, see Open and log in to Desktop Assistant.
    2. On the Desktop Assistant home page, select Network test.
    3. On the Network Test page, select Test my network.
      Desktop Assistant runs a network test, displays the download and upload speeds, rates network performance, and suggests steps to improve bandwidth if performance is below average.
    4. Optional: Select the Network Details accordion to view the device and server names.
