# Create a record producer using a template

# Create a record producer using a template {#ariaid-title1}

If a predefined incident template exists, it can be used with the record producer to
fill in standard information for the incident.

## Before you begin

Role required: catalog_admin or admin

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllService CatalogCatalog DefinitionsRecord Producers.
2. Click New and complete the steps in [Create a record producer](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=t_DefRecProdInSCat&version=australia&pubname=australia-servicenow-platform&ft:locale=en-US).
3. Click Generated Record Data and select the incident template to populate fields when the record producer is submitted.
4. Right-click on the form header and click Save.
