    About this task

    The Sample IT service portfolio provides usable data in the form of portfolios, taxonomy layers, and taxonomy nodes. It also provides demo data in the form of services, service offerings, incidents, commitments, and more.

    You can view the Sample IT service portfolio content with any Service Portfolio Management role. To create portfolios or to manage the taxonomy nodes, you must have either the portfolio_admin role or the service_editor role.

    You can view the sample content in both the Service Portfolio Management application and in the Digital Portfolio Management (DPM) Workspace.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to All > Service Portfolio Management > Service Portfolios.
    2. Select Sample IT Services Portfolio to open the portfolio details.
    3. Review the taxonomy nodes.
      A list of sample IT service-related nodes appear including but not limited to the following.
      • Software Management
      • Hardware Support
      • IT Management and Consulting
      • Network Support
      • Data Center Management
      • Software Support
    4. Select a service type taxonomy node.
    5. Review the sample IT service portfolio and its taxonomy nodes to understand the basic structure.
      Look at several service type taxonomy nodes to find the structure that best fits you your needs. You can use them as guidance as you build your own portfolio content structure.
