Security Center landing page

Use the Security Center landing page to find the information and tools you need to secure your instance.

Instance summary

The instance summary displays a high-level overview of the state of your instance's security. Select the info () icon on any card for details on what each represents. You can also select any card to navigate to the relevant area of Security Center.

My Security Tasks

The my Security Tasks section displays a list of Security Tasks assigned to you. Open a task by selecting the number to review a tasks details, or select View all access the Security Tasks Manager, where all tasks are visible. For more information on Security Tasks, see Security Tasks.

Posture

Use information in the Posture section to set and maintain the best security posture with an instance-wide dashboard and guided Best Practices. Select Best Practices or Security posture dashboards to navigate to those sections within the Security posture console. Learn more about these sections in Security posture console.

Access management

View access issues and misconfiguration on your instance. You can information about access findings and evaluate permissions for users, roles, and groups. You can also review additional resources to learn about user administration on ServiceNow instances. To learn more, see Explore Access management console.

Machine identity

Manage service accounts and third-party integrations. To learn more, see Machine Identity Console.

Other configuration tools

Use the content in this section to customize your security protections with tools that meet your organization's unique security configuration needs. Select Hardening score comparison, Customer actions, or Security scanner to navigate to those sections within the Security configuration console. Learn more about this console and these sections at Security configuration console.

Monitoring

Monitor and detect potential security threats on your instance using the Security Monitoring console. Within this console are sections for Security event notifications and Security metrics where you can configure thresholds or security event notifications. For details see Security monitoring console.

Additional resources

Use the additional resources section on the edge of screen to navigate to documentation and videos relevant to learning Security Center as well as information on managing instance security.

Security center has been updated to provide guidance to understand what the tool can do how to use it. This redesign is tailored to assist both new and infrequent users of Security Center. New modal windows appear within security center to demonstrate how these tools can help you achieve your security goals.
