Use generative AI capabilities to extract metadata from a signed contract attached in a contract repository record.

## Antes de Iniciar

Ensure that Now Assist has data access or your role. For more information, see [Configure data permissions for Now Assist skills](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/9N47igfiJwFa_Gc_Wmpa3g "Add the user roles for a Now Assist skill to specify the roles that Now Assist uses to access data while performing a task. The user roles control the information that Now Assist can read, update, or share, based on the permissions of the selected roles.").

Role required: sn_cm_gen_ai.ai_contract_fulfiller

## Por Que e Quando Desempenhar Esta Tarefa

You can also configure the system properties to automatically initiate the metadata extraction process once the contract repository record is created. For more information, see [Configure system properties for contract metadata extraction](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/pEYCMBSc2p4ikuLbVDjuxw "Configure system properties to specify whether the contract metadata extraction should be automatically initiated or manually.").
Nota:
Contract metadata extraction using generative AI capabilities is not available when the Manage contract repository agentic workflow is enabled.
