Use the Unified Taxonomy for Employee Center to create appointment categories to group appointment reasons and map them to location queues.

## Antes de Iniciar

Ensure that you have created the following records:

* Unified Taxonomy topic for Employee Center. For more information about Unified Taxonomy, see [Unified Taxonomy for Employee Center](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/76c~qgFiFHMMtXTBwirkLQ "Unified Taxonomy is a collection of hierarchical topics that brings together different content types, such as requests, articles, quick links, learning content, and employee communications.").
* Walk-up location queue record that you want to map the reasons to. For more information about creating a walk-up location queue, see [Create or modify Walk-up Experience locations](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=configure-walkup-location&version=australia&pubname=australia-it-service-management&ft:locale=en-US).
* Appointment reasons that you want to link to the location queue. For more information about creating reasons, see [Create an appointment reason](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/PuDGkMZzBHmnsmXIPNxEEA "Create a reason that employees can use to book an appointment.").
* Location consent (communication configuration) record that you want to link to the walk-up location queue. For more information about configuring location consent (communication configuration), see [Configure appointment communication](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/jzfVcmouldcPR49NAycm7g "Configure the communication channels and location consent for appointment bookings.").

   Nota:
To display the Topic and Location consent fields, change the view to Appointment Booking.

3. In the Topic field, select the taxonomy topic that you want to set as the category.
   Nota:
As an admin, you can disable the category field on the schedule appointment page by using the instance options.
4. In the Location consent field, select the location consent record that you want to set for the location.
5. Save the record.
   Nota:
