Managing a crisis event in BCM UIB Workspace helps you to minimize the downtime of critical business functions and processes across your organization. It is also used to minimize the financial, reputation, legal, and regulatory impact during a
crisis event.

## Steps involved in creating a crisis event {#crisis-management-uib__section_n2b_cpt_byb}

Creating a crisis event includes these steps:

* BCM program manager creates a crisis event either from the Home page or the Crisis events record page in the List view of the BCM UIB Workspace.
* BCM program manager adds additional details for the crisis event such as an asset, plan, and event task.
* BCM program manager submits the event task related to the exercise event for an approval.
* Assigned BCM program manager reviews the details on the event task and approves the event.
* Crisis event is moved to the Approved state. An approved crisis event is moved to the Archived state later.
* BCM program manager can generate the PDF of the details and save a copy for reference.
