Add a step, section, or question to a catalog item wizard so catalog item editors can
enter custom details while creating catalog items.

## Before you begin

Role required: catalog_admin

## About this task

This video shows you how to add a step, section, or question to a catalog item wizard.

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllService Catalog WizardsMaintain Wizards.
2. Indicate the wizard you want to modify by selecting either Create catalog item or Create record producer.
3. Add steps, sections, or questions to the Catalog Builder wizard. {#configure-the-catalog-builder-experience__createvariablestep}

   | Create a step | 1. Select New from the Catalog Wizards Steps related list. 2. On the Catalog Wizard Step form, fill in the fields.For a description of the field values, see [Fields in Service Catalog Wizard forms](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/cMtQcOglL6PfOYF~tyOt4A "Service Catalog wizards help you to create wizard like, multi-step experiences."). 3.    | Create a section | 1. Select the step for which you want to add a section from the Catalog Wizards Steps related list. 2. Create a section by selecting New from the Catalog Wizard Section related list. 3.    | Create a variable or question | 1. Select the Open associated producer related link on the Catalog Wizard form. 2. Create a question or variable by selecting New on the Variables related tab. 3. Enter details in the Annotations, Type specifications, and Default Value tabs. Add the question to the section by selecting New from the Catalog Wizard Question related list. 8.
