CMDB.

## Access {#cmdb-workspace-mangmnt-view__section_bjy_qrw_x5b}

Role requirement: sn_cmdb_admin (CMDB Admin)

To access the Management view, navigate to WorkspacesCMDB Workspace and then select Management in the CMDB Workspace menu bar.

## CMDB Data Manager {#cmdb-workspace-mangmnt-view__section_umr_lmd_w5b}

The following cards show details about CIs and policies associated with [CMDB Data Manager](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/t_YTOuAcOAArYfDzbgGF4Q "CMDB Data Manager is a policy-driven framework for bulk management of CI life-cycle operations such as deletion, archival, and attestation. The CMDB Data Manager is a comprehensive and integrated solution that scales to large CMDBs and copes with rapid changes in a cloud-based world."):

Rejected CIs
: CIs set as rejected during a review of [attestation tasks](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/ltkvXPGG~q40tOJ4LK_jWQ "Review attestation tasks that are assigned to you or to an assignment group that you belong to in accordance with CMDB Data Manager Attestation policies. Check the physical existence of IT infrastructure or applications associated with CIs in the attestation task and then process those CIs as appropriate.").

Excluded CIs
: [CIs set as excluded](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/T_5m29TdCoqwsHX~ztkn8Q "Create and manage exclusion lists for the various policy types used in CMDB Data Manager, in CMDB Workspace or in Service Graph Workspace. Policies of the specified type won't target CIs and other records in the exclusion list for that policy type.") from CMDB Data Manager policies.

Draft policies
: Draft [Data Manager policies](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/62u9ThyS52sKtt6pDr0jMQ "Create a CMDB Data Manager policy in CMDB Workspace or Service Graph Workspace to automatically process CIs life-cycle events such as deletion. Applying consistent and standard life-cycle policies to CIs helps maintain the health of the CMDB.") that were created but not published.

## CI Correctness {#cmdb-workspace-mangmnt-view__section_sw3_gld_w5b}

Cards in this section show health state for the sub metrics of the [CMDB Health](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/5tTKNbvdNPz2l14jzwTV1g "A healthy CMDB, based on health benchmarks in an organization, is essential to an effective and continuous use of the product. Health indicators such as duplicate CIs, required CI fields, and audits are evaluated and aggregated into health scores at the class, health group, and service levels. CMDB Health also provides a framework for applying standardized CI remediation.") correctness KPI. Counts are based on testing CIs against pre-defined data integrity rules such as:

* [Identification rules](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/qG5r~lgjzB8eUVVTvbX_fw "The CMDB identification process relies on identification rules to uniquely identify CIs.") (to detect duplicate CIs)
* [Orphan CI rules](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/aNpmLG9TxuJKEBj6t5lWWw "Create an orphan rule to determine the percentage of orphan CIs in the CMDB. This sum is then aggregated into the correctness CMDB Health KPI. Orphan rules are defined per class, and only a single orphan rule can be defined per class.")
* [Staleness CI rules](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/VCEdyIGrXvcSilPPoOs3zg "If the staleness metric is in effect, then staleness rules are used to determine the percentage of stale CIs in the CMDB. This sum is then aggregated into the correctness KPI.")
{#cmdb-workspace-mangmnt-view__ul_ygn_knv_x5b}You can set the time interval used in calculations for these counts.

For more information about the correctness KPI, and the duplicate, orphan, and stale sub metrics, see [CMDB Health KPIs and metrics](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/tdVXhIuanyw2LQQ83HcODw "CMDB Health calculates an aggregated score for three Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) which are correctness, compliance, and completeness, each further consisting of sub-metrics.").

## Recent activity trends {#cmdb-workspace-mangmnt-view__section_hc3_dkd_w5b}

The following cards show recent activities in the CMDB:

Recent CI Activity
: A 7-day chart showing metrics and trend line related to CIs such as the number of new CIs and updated CIs.

Recent Application Service Activity

: A 7-day chart showing metrics and trend line related to [Application Services](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/icjOdwhjFoybNcN98xydAQ "Understand service instances (application services), learn about different application service types and how multiple ServiceNow business units and products use them.") such as the total number of Application Services, new and updated Application Services, and the number of Application Services with outages.
