The ServiceNow®
MCP for Strategic Portfolio Management application connects any MCP-compatible AI assistant to your ServiceNow instance. Strategy and PMO leaders, portfolio managers, and project managers can access live SPM data through natural language. See the following sections for release notes by version.

## About MCP for Strategic Portfolio Management {#mcp-for-spm-rn__mcp-for-spm-rn-about}

* Query goals, portfolio plans, and projects directly from any MCP-compatible AI assistant using natural language, without opening the ServiceNow instance.
* Generate AI-powered insights --- including at-risk goals, portfolio plan bottlenecks, project risks, and RAG status reports --- using eight MCP tools exposed through the SPM MCP Server Console.
* Identify and save RIDAC risks as AI drafts directly from your AI assistant, enabling project managers to act on risks without switching to ServiceNow.

    tool surfaces at-risk projects, delayed starts and ends, and dependencies to highlight potential bottlenecks.

    Generate Project Insights tool detects project risks and analyzes status trajectory using predictive modeling. The Get AI Status Report tool generates a Red, Amber, Green (RAG) status report across resources, cost, schedule, and
    scope. The Identify Project Risks tool detects AI-identified RIDAC risks and saves them to the risk table as AI drafts.
