## Summary of Cloud Provisioning and Governance

The ServiceNow® Cloud Provisioning and Governance (CPG) application offers a unified interface for managing cloud resources, delivering cloud services through a catalog, and overseeing resource usage and lifecycle.
Renamed as the Cloud Services Catalog application, it streamlines cloud resource management across private and public cloud providers including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and VMware.
Show full answer Show less
Note that from the Brazil release onward, CPG is being prepared for future deprecation. It will no longer be installed on new instances but remains supported for existing customers. It is incompatible with the legacy v1 Cloud Management application but compatible starting with the Jakarta release.

## Key Features

* **Unified Cloud Resource Access:** Centralized interface to provision and govern cloud resources.
* **Cloud Services Catalog:** Simplifies delivery and lifecycle management of cloud offerings.
* **Multi-Cloud Integration:** Supports major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and VMware.
* **Workflow Migration:** Legacy workflows are replaced with modern Workflow Studio flows or subflows starting Zurich release, enhancing automation capabilities.
* **Guided Setup:** Step-by-step guided setup assists with configuration for AWS, Azure, and VMware integration.

## Workflow Migration and Automation

Legacy workflows are deprecated and replaced by Workflow Studio flows and subflows to improve automation. Default workflows are automatically migrated if uncustomized; custom workflows remain active but are not migrated. Key workflows migrated include cloud operation change requests, task processing, approval workflows, and blueprint requests.

Policy Rule Actions now support Workflow Studio subflows, enabling more flexible automation. Customers should update their workflows accordingly to benefit from the latest improvements.

## Implementation and Administration

* Use the **Cloud Provisioning and Governance guided setup** within ITOM Guided Setup to configure the application efficiently.
* Refer to the administration and developer documentation for detailed configuration, development, and troubleshooting guidance.
* Explore domain separation and specific Day 1 setup guides for AWS, Azure, and VMware to ensure smooth onboarding.

## Support and Resources

ServiceNow provides extensive support including a Known Error Portal, community forums, and Customer Service and Support contact channels. Knowledge Base articles help with workflow migration and advanced configuration.

## What Customers Can Expect

By leveraging Cloud Provisioning and Governance, customers gain centralized, efficient control over multi-cloud environments with improved automation and lifecycle management. They can expect streamlined provisioning, standardized governance policies, and enhanced visibility into resource usage.

As the application moves toward deprecation, customers should plan for migration to the Cloud Services Catalog application for future-proof cloud resource management.
The ServiceNow® Cloud Provisioning and Governance (CPG) application serves as a unified interface for accessing cloud resources, delivering cloud offerings to a catalog, and overseeing resource usage. This application is transformed as Cloud Services Catalog application, offering refined and streamlined management of usage and life cycle of cloud resources.
Important:
Starting with the Brazil release, Cloud Provisioning and Governance is being prepared for future deprecation. It will be hidden and no longer installed on new instances but will continue to be supported. For details, see the [Deprecation Process \[KB0867184\]](https://support.servicenow.com/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB0867184) article in the Now Support Knowledge Base.
Cloud Provisioning and Governance is integrated with both private and public cloud providers, such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform and VMware.
Note:
Migration from workflow to subflows:

* If the default workflows aren't customized, the flows are migrated to subflows.
* If the default workflows are customized, the flows continue to use the existing workflow.
{#cloud-management-v2-landing-page__ul_ccn_4td_b2c}

The Cloud Provisioning and Governance application is incompatible and
cannot be used simultaneously with the legacy v1 Cloud Management application. The
Cloud Provisioning and Governance (previously Cloud Management) application
is compatible starting with the Jakarta release.

## Workflow migration {#cloud-management-v2-landing-page__section_ejh_mtd_5fc}

As the automation experience evolves, legacy workflows are no longer supported starting with the Zurich release. You can continue using existing custom workflows and deprecated base system workflows only if already in place, but use the new base system flows for all future needs. For more information, see the following articles in the Now Support Knowledge Base:

* [How to update Cloud Provision Service Request PAD or Cloud Resource Operation Request PAD \[KB2265927\]](https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB2265927)
* [How to migrate Cloud Service Catalog to use flow in case any of the Out of Box Workflows has been modified \[KB2262737\]](https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB2262737)
{#cloud-management-v2-landing-page__ul_qqm_y2c_wfc}

All default predefined workflows have been redesigned using Workflow Studio.

Policy Rule Actions can now use Workflow Studio subflows instead of legacy workflows. If you have not customized the default workflows, the legacy workflows are migrated to subflows automatically. If you have customized the default workflows,
they aren't migrated, and their use cases continue to work with the existing workflows.

The following workflows have been migrated to Workflow Studio flows or subflow:

* Cloud operation change request
* Cloud task processing
* Cloud approval workflow
* Post-process workflow
* Pre-process workflow
* Cloud resource operation request
* Blueprint request

{#cloud-management-v2-landing-page__ul_fjh_mtd_5fc}

The following workflows have been deprecated:

* Retrieve cloud billing data
* Retrieve cloud billing month
* Cloud operation step workflow launcher
