Assign roles and personas to groups for Service Exchange

    About this task

    Roles control which actions are available to users and grant access to remote record producers. In Service Exchange, you assign roles to groups rather than individual users. When a user's job description changes, their roles update automatically based on their group membership. You can also assign Service Exchange Personas to a group, which gives all group members access to the remote catalog items linked to those personas.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to All > User Administration > Groups.
    2. Select the group that you want to update.
    3. To assign roles and personas to a group, do the following steps.To assign roles to the group, in the Roles related list, select Edit, add the roles, and then select Save.

      1. Select the Roles related list.
      2. Select Edit and add the required roles.
      3. Select Save.
      To assign personas
      1. Select the Service Exchange Personas related list.
      2. Select Edit and add the required roles.
      3. Select Save.

    Result

    All members of the group can access the roles and remote catalog items linked to the assigned personas. Access updates automatically when group membership changes.
