Edit knowledge blocks within a knowledge article to update the reused content across articles within the knowledge base.
Before you begin
You must have contribute access to the knowledge base that stores the knowledge block you want to edit. By default, the knowledge block doesn't show attached files and it only shows as a link.Role required:

Procedure

Navigate to .

Select New to create an article.

Select the knowledge base and the article template in the Create new article window.

Preview the article template and select Next.

Start by entering the Knowledge base, Short description (title), and other details in the metadata pane of the article form.

Select Blocks icon from the contextual side panel.
Note: To edit a knowledge block from an existing article in a knowledge base, open the article from the list of articles under Knowledge, and proceed with the steps below.

View the list of Knowledge Blocks associated with the knowledge article.

To preview, select a knowledge block to open a detailed view of the block.

Select the knowledge ID of the block to open the knowledge block record.

On the knowledge block record, select Edit and modify the knowledge block via its editor.

Select Save.
The knowledge block is saved and appears in the Unpublished list under Knowledge Blocks. If the article versioning feature is enabled, the version of the knowledge block is incremented by 0.01.
- Optional:
Publish the knowledge block by selecting Publish.
The knowledge block is published depending on the workflow setting of its knowledge base.
- Knowledge - Instant Publish: The knowledge block is immediately published.
- Knowledge - Approval Publish: The knowledge block is published on approval completion.
When published, your knowledge block appears in the Published and All lists under Knowledge Blocks. If the article versioning feature is
enabled, the version number of the knowledge block is updated to the next whole number (for example, from 2.02 to 3.0).
Note: You can’t edit knowledge blocks from the article area. You must go to a knowledge block
record to edit it. To edit a published knowledge block, you must checkout the block.
