## Summary of API Service Graph Connector for Boomi Cloud API Management

The API Service Graph Connector for Boomi Cloud API Management enables ServiceNow customers to import API information from Boomi Cloud API Management applications into the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
This integration provides a centralized and normalized view of APIs, facilitating better governance, visibility, and collaboration across your API estate without requiring direct access to Boomi.

## Key Features

* **Normalized Data Model:** Imports API data into a consistent, normalized structure within the CMDB, ensuring compatibility and consistency across various technologies.
* **API Insights Workspace:** Offers a centralized interface to analyze and interact with API data, enhancing monitoring and management capabilities.
* **Supported ServiceNow Versions:** Compatible with Yokohama, Zurich, and Australia releases.

## Use Cases

* Maintain an extensive inventory of both exposed and backend APIs, tracking their publication, usage, and ownership.
* Trace APIs from customer-facing endpoints through to underlying services, facilitating impact analysis and incident creation when services fail or change.
* Manage API security by addressing vulnerabilities and incidents related to API endpoints and supporting compliance requirements.

## Configuration and Data Management

Connections for the connector are configured via the SGC Central view in the CMDB Workspace. This interface allows customers to discover, install, and manage connectors throughout their lifecycle, including setup, editing, monitoring, and debugging.

Data from Boomi Cloud API Management is mapped and transformed into CMDB Configuration Item (CI) classes using the Robust Transform Engine (RTE) and inserted with the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE). The integration supports periodic data synchronization to keep CMDB records current.

The connector processes data from APIs and API Consumers, staging the data before populating target CMDB tables such as Managed API, Boomi API Gateway, API Frontend, API Backend, and API Consumer classes.

## Practical Benefits for ServiceNow Customers

* Gain a unified and comprehensive view of your API landscape within the ServiceNow CMDB.
* Improve operational response by linking API endpoints to backend services, enabling quick identification of impacted components.
* Enhance security posture and compliance by tracking vulnerabilities and incidents tied to APIs.
* Utilize the IntegrationHub ETL app to view and manage data mappings, supporting customization and troubleshooting.
Use the ServiceNow®
API Service Graph Connector for Boomi Cloud API Management to import API details from a Boomi Cloud API Management application into the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

## Key features {#api-sgc-boomi-cloud__section_rrb_hjz_whc}

Import data into a normalized data model for consistency across other technologies.

The API Insights workspace provides a centralized interface where you can analyze and interact with API data, without needing direct access to a Boomi Cloud API Management application, enhancing visibility, governance, and collaboration across the API estate. To learn more, see [API Insights](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/0FA9VzZDEW5Pz1URWud4zw "The ServiceNow API Insights workspace is an all-in-one application that enables you to track all your APIs. You can also use it to start workflows related to different stages in the application programming interface (API) life cycle.").

## Supported ServiceNow versions {#api-sgc-boomi-cloud__section_mn3_hjz_whc}

* Yokohama
* Zurich
* Australia

## Use cases {#api-sgc-boomi-cloud__section_xnq_hjz_whc}

You can use the API Service Graph Connector for Boomi Cloud API Management to:

* Maintain an end-to-end inventory of exposed and backend APIs, identifying what APIs are published, used, and by whom.
* Track APIs from customer-facing endpoints to the underlying services, identifying impacted endpoints when services change or fail and creating incidents for reported issues.
* Address vulnerabilities and security incidents related to API endpoints and create compliance requirements to measure against.

## Configuring a connection for the connector {#api-sgc-boomi-cloud__section_gkx_hjz_whc}

You can configure a connection for the connector by using the SGC Central view in the CMDB Workspace. The SGC Central view enables you to discover and install connectors, and then effectively manage the full life cycle of creating, editing, monitoring, and debugging connections. To configure the connector using SGC Central, see [Configure API Service Graph Connector for Boomi Cloud API Management using SGC Central](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/4OO7cnXy~Nu514P_R7Qifw "Set up scheduled import jobs to pull in Boomi Cloud API Management data into your CMDB.").

## Data mapping {#api-sgc-boomi-cloud__section_rkd_3jz_whc}

Data from the Boomi Cloud API Management data sources is mapped and transformed into the CMDB Configuration Item (CI) class definitions using the Robust Transform Engine (RTE). Data is inserted into the CMDB using the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE).

When you complete setting up the connection, you can configure the integration to periodically pull data from a Boomi Cloud API Management application.
The following table lists the data sources in the order they run, the staging tables, and the target tables as CMDB CI and non-CMDB classes for a Boomi Cloud API Management application.{#api-sgc-boomi-cloud__table_s3s_dns_zxb__entry__3}

For more information on where data is saved when pulling data from a Boomi Cloud API Management application, see [Target tables for storing API Service Graph Connector for Boomi Cloud API Management data](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/Mt~H4tid6vIWYi7hKV7iTQ "When you complete setting up the connection, you can configure the integration to periodically pull data from a Boomi Cloud API Management application. The data is saved in tables that extend from the Configuration item [cmdb_ci] classes and other non-CMDB tables.").

You can use the IntegrationHub ETL app to view the data maps. See [IntegrationHub ETL](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/MvUnD_GHFcty25xoT_q32Q "Use the IntegrationHub ETL store app to create and manage ETL transform maps, which integrate third-party data into the CMDB or into non-CMDB tables without compromising the integrity of data. IntegrationHub ETL provides a simplified user interface that guides you through the integration process end-to-end, including a test integration run of sample data.") for more information.
