## Summary of CSDM Data Foundations dashboard

The CSDM Data Foundations dashboard provides a consolidated view of key Common Service Data Model (CSDM) indicators to help ServiceNow customers maximize the value of their AI Platform products.
It displays relevant data metrics tailored to your organization's current stage of CSDM implementation, enabling better management and optimization of your Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and related services.

## Accessing the Dashboard

You can open the dashboard through multiple methods:

* Navigate to **All \> Configuration** and select **CSDM Data Foundations Dashboard**.
* From CMDB Workspace, go to **Workspaces \> Service Graph Workspace** or **Workspaces \> CMDB Workspace** , then select **Management** in the workspace menu bar and choose **CSDM Data Foundations Dashboard** under the **Optimize** section.
* Use the dashboard toggle icon to switch between CSDM and CMDB dashboards.

## Dashboard Structure and Use

The dashboard is organized into tabs corresponding to the maturity stages of your CSDM implementation:

* **Foundation:** Focuses on populating base foundational data tables essential for all ServiceNow products.
* **Crawl:** Covers base-system CMDB tables linked to IT Service Management (ITSM).
* **Walk:** Involves identifying and populating network infrastructure and application Configuration Items (CIs) supported by technical teams.
* **Run:** Deals with establishing relationships between technology and the business entities that sell or consume it.
* **Fly:** Represents the completion or near-completion of the CSDM framework implementation.

Each report within the tabs is clearly labeled with the metric it displays, helping stakeholders identify gaps such as missing relationships between business service offerings and service instances to ensure comprehensive impact visibility.

## Performance Management

If certain metrics are unnecessary or impact dashboard performance, you can manage data collection settings to optimize responsiveness. Guidance on managing performance is available to tailor the dashboard to your operational needs.

## Related Information

For further insights, you can also monitor health metrics in both the CSDM and CMDB Data Foundations dashboards and configure the dashboard as needed to align with your organizational goals.
The CSDM Data Foundations dashboard displays key CSDM indicators on a single page to help you get the full benefit from your ServiceNow AI Platform products.

## Example {#csdm-data-foundations-dashboard__section_jls_txj_dxb}

The reports on each tab display the data metrics that are appropriate for the maturity of your organization's CSDM implementation stage (foundation, crawl, walk, run, and fly). A label on each report identifies the metric being displayed.

In this example, a report on the Run tab indicates that several business service offerings don't have the required relationships to service instances
. With this knowledge, Service owners can add the relationships to confirm that customer service agents get complete
information on the impact of applications that are down.

## Tabs on the dashboard {#csdm-data-foundations-dashboard__section_qxv_y3h_x1c}

* Tables in the Foundation domain contain base data that is referenced from or to objects in the other CSDM domains. Before you can use ServiceNow products, you must populate foundational data. See ['Foundation' stage reports on the CSDM Data Foundations dashboard](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/adIxgsr9aIs81SA00h_Opg "The Foundation tab on the CSDM Data Foundations dashboard identifies data that might be missing from the CMDB.").
* In the Crawl stage, you work on base-system CMDB tables that are associated with IT Service Management (ITSM). See ['Crawl' stage reports on the CSDM Data Foundations dashboard](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/O2Y~BUwYAzpaOFranIKWtA "Crawl stage reports on the CSDM Data Foundations dashboard").
* In the Walk stage, you identify and populate the network infrastructure CIs and applications that your organization's technical teams support. See ['Walk' stage reports on the CSDM Data Foundations dashboard](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/p1DNtDe5y7HF_FCjpm2uag "Walk stage reports on the CSDM Data Foundations dashboard").
* In the Run stage, you set up the relationship between a technology and the business that sells and consumes the technology. See ['Run' stage reports on the CSDM Data Foundations dashboard](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/gb1AMpTp~4~rujqdXr63WA "Run stage reports on the CSDM Data Foundations dashboard").
* When you reach the Fly stage, you have accomplished all or most of the process of implementing the CSDM framework. The fly stage completes the process. See ['Fly' stage reports on the CSDM Data Foundations dashboard](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/UW66VNXjZVVPW5qa6lNJCQ "Fly stage reports on the CSDM Data Foundations dashboard").
