The Knowledge Center Article Optimization feature provides automated, actionable feedback to improve content quality, accessibility, and search engine optimization, with configurable scans to identify and fix
issues.

## Before you begin

Role required: agent

## About this task

Review and optimize knowledge articles in the Knowledge Center (KC) by running quality scans of all the articles. Default settings come with default scan configurations, but you can also customize scan jobs. For more on creating an Article
Optimization job, see [Configure Article Optimization jobs](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/QmweTXf8bYQRxa9nl~K2wg "Article Optimization jobs define a schedule for running scans and their conditional settings. Each job has one or more scans associated with it.").

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllKnowledgeKnowledge CenterLists.
2. Select the type of article from the List menu (Unpublished, Published, Retired, and so on).
3. Select an existing article from the article list.
4. Select Edit to open the article in the Article Editor window.
5. Select the Article Optimization icon to view the list of issues identified in the article, along with the suggestions to fix them.
   Important:
Two types of article optimization scans are available. One is a script-based scan and the other is an AI-based scan. If you're subscribed to ServiceNow Otto, article optimization feature runs both the scans. If you aren't subscribed to ServiceNow Otto, then article optimization runs only the script-based scan.
6. Review each of the feedback cards.
7. Select the suggested action (such as Review, Add alt attribute, and so on) to accept the changes or, select Ignore to reject the feedback.
8. Select Save to save the changes made to the article.
   Note:
   * Selecting suggested action opens the description for the issue. Only ServiceNow Otto subscribers can see these suggestions.
   * Select Update to implement the solution in the relevant section. If you aren't subscribed to ServiceNow Otto, you can manually rectify the identified issue and Update the card.
