## About this task

For an overview of the MCP Server and its supported clients and tools, see [CMDB MCP Server](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/WmrizOlT6_RcB~uSzlH9WQ "The CMDB MCP Server exposes CMDB capabilities to external AI clients using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), so those clients can work with your configuration data without direct database access.").

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllAdmin CenterMCP Server Console.
2. On the Servers page of the Configuration console, select the CMDB MCP Server card and then select Activate.
3. To control access to the server, set up OAuth credentials using the Inbound Integrations feature as described in [Inbound integrations](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=inbound-integrations&version=australia&pubname=australia-platform-security&ft:locale=en-US).
For instructions on connecting an MCP client to the server, see [Connecting to an MCP server from an MCP client](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=connect-mcp-server-client&version=australia&pubname=australia-intelligent-experiences&ft:locale=en-US).
