## Summary of Service Graph Connector for Trellix

The Service Graph Connector for Trellix enables ServiceNow customers to import device, server, and network data from a Trellix environment directly into their ServiceNow instance.
This integration supports improved incident response, asset management, and cybersecurity operations by providing detailed Configuration Item (CI) data and facilitating dependency assessments within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

## Key Features

* **Supported ServiceNow Versions:** Washington DC, Xanadu, and Yokohama releases.
* **Use Cases:** Identify cybersecurity risks, assess CI dependencies, enhance security incident response, endpoint management, and maintain data quality by reconciling inconsistencies and managing incidents and changes on discovered CIs.
* **Connection Configuration:** Use the SGC Central view within the Service Graph Workspace or CMDB Workspace to install, configure, monitor, and debug the connector connection. The legacy guided setup is deprecated, emphasizing SGC Central for configuration tasks.
* **CMDB Integrations Dashboard:** Provided by the Integration Commons for CMDB app, this dashboard offers a centralized view of integration status, processing outcomes, and errors. It supports filtering by integration, time, or specific runs, enabling effective monitoring of Trellix integrations.
* **Data Mapping and Processing:** Data from Trellix is imported through the SG-Trellix-Devices data source and staged in a designated import table. The Robust Transform Engine (RTE) maps this data to ServiceNow CMDB CI classes, and the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) manages insertion into target tables such as File System, IP Address, Network Adapter, Server, Software, and Storage Disk.
* **Software Asset Management (SAM) Integration:** When SAM is installed, software data maps to the Software Installation table; otherwise, it maps to Software and Software Instance tables.
* **IntegrationHub ETL Support:** Customers can view and manage data mappings using the IntegrationHub ETL application.
* **System Property Configuration:** The property `sntrellixinteg.getdevicescount` controls the pagination size for data fetched from the Trellix API, defaulting to 100 records per fetch. This can be adjusted via the System Properties table.

## Practical Benefits for ServiceNow Customers

* Streamlined integration of Trellix security data into ServiceNow's CMDB enhances visibility into hardware and software assets.
* Improved security posture by enabling rapid identification of risks and dependency mapping for incident and change management.
* Centralized monitoring and lifecycle management of the connector through SGC Central and the CMDB integrations dashboard reduces operational complexity.
* Flexible data mapping supports customers with or without SAM, ensuring comprehensive software asset tracking.
* Adjustable system properties allow optimization of data import performance based on environment size and needs.

## Next Steps

* Configure and manage the connector via SGC Central, following the recommended setup procedures.
* Use the CMDB Integrations Dashboard to monitor integration health and troubleshoot issues.
* Leverage IntegrationHub ETL to customize or review data mappings as needed.
* Adjust the pagination system property to optimize data retrieval performance.
Use the Service Graph Connector for Trellix to bring in device, server, and network data from a Trellix environment into your ServiceNow instance to streamline your incident response and asset management use cases.

## Configuring a connection for the connector {#sgc-integration-trellix__section_stg_psr_mfc}

Use the SGC Central view in the Service Graph Workspace or CMDB Workspace to install the connector and configure the connection. The view enables you to install and discover connectors and to manage the full life cycle of creating, editing, monitoring, and debugging connections. For instructions, see [Configure Service Graph Connector for Trellix using SGC Central](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/hwFYLJxcwnybvJGdSDAKAQ "Use the playbook available with the SGC Central application to set up the Service Graph Connector for Trellix for pulling in Trellix data into the CMDB.").
Important:
Unless there are configuration issues, use SGC Central to configure the connection. The guided setup method for configuration is being deprecated.

## CMDB integrations dashboard {#sgc-integration-trellix__section_fgd_xsr_mfc}

The Integration Commons for CMDB store app provides a dashboard with a central view of the status, processing results, and processing errors of all installed integrations. You can see metrics for all integration runs.
You can filter the view to a specific CMDB integration, a specific time duration, or a specific integration run. For more details about monitoring Trellix integrations in the CMDB Integrations Dashboard, see [Using the CMDB Integrations Dashboard](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/6UR2b9oa6teU8Ntvkupjzg#integration-commons-for-cmdb__section_fxg_lh4_blb).

## Data mapping {#sgc-integration-trellix__section_snx_mtr_mfc}

Data from the Trellix data sources is mapped and transformed into the ServiceNow
CMDB Configuration Item (CI) class definitions using the Robust Transform Engine (RTE). Data is inserted into the ServiceNow
CMDB using the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE).
The following data source is included for the Trellix application:

SG-Trellix-Devices
: Imports data from devices and loads the imported data in the SGC Trellix Device Import \[sn_trellix_integ_sgc_trellix_device_import\] staging table.
The imported data is then inserted into the following target tables:

* [File System](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/5HoNhgA5PUD4issYVYWcIA#cmdb-trellix-classes__section_utl_zrr_mfc) \[cmdb_ci_file_system\]
* [IP Address](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/5HoNhgA5PUD4issYVYWcIA#cmdb-trellix-classes__section_kpf_1sr_mfc) \[cmdb_ci_ip_address\]
* [Network Adapter](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/5HoNhgA5PUD4issYVYWcIA#cmdb-trellix-classes__section_mgv_1sr_mfc) \[cmdb_ci_network_adapter\]
* [Server](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/5HoNhgA5PUD4issYVYWcIA#cmdb-trellix-classes__section_wpn_bsr_mfc) \[cmdb_ci_server\]
* [Software Installation](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/5HoNhgA5PUD4issYVYWcIA#cmdb-trellix-classes__section_ahx_4ds_mfc) \[cmdb_sam_sw_install\] (if the Software Asset Management (SAM) application is installed)
* [Software](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/5HoNhgA5PUD4issYVYWcIA#cmdb-trellix-classes__section_uqb_dsr_mfc) \[cmdb_ci_spkg\] (if the SAM application isn't installed)
* [Software Instance](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/5HoNhgA5PUD4issYVYWcIA#cmdb-trellix-classes__section_xfs_dsr_mfc) \[cmdb_software_instance\] (if the SAM application isn't installed)
* [Storage Disk](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/5HoNhgA5PUD4issYVYWcIA#cmdb-trellix-classes__section_thj_2sr_mfc) \[cmdb_ci_storage_disk\]
{#sgc-integration-trellix__ul_vd2_xvr_mfc}

You can use the IntegrationHub ETL app to view the data maps. See [IntegrationHub ETL](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/MvUnD_GHFcty25xoT_q32Q "Use the IntegrationHub ETL store app to create and manage ETL transform maps, which integrate third-party data into the CMDB or into non-CMDB tables without compromising the integrity of data. IntegrationHub ETL provides a simplified user interface that guides you through the integration process end-to-end, including a test integration run of sample data.") for more information.

## System property {#sgc-integration-trellix__section_urp_zps_mfc}

The following system property is available for Service Graph Connector for Trellix: `sn_trellix_integ.getdevices_count`. This property sets the pagination size for the records that are fetched from the Trellix API.

* Type: integer
* Default value: `100`
