Enable DEX browser extension for monitoring web/SaaS applications

    • Activate the DEX Chrome or Edge Extension on your system to collect different operational or performance based metrics for the web/SaaS applications.

    Before you begin

    Ensure that the DEX plugin [sn_dex] is installed.

    Ensure that for the DEX browser extension, the browser versions are Google Chrome 114 or higher, and Microsoft Edge version 96 or higher.

    Role required: sn_dex.admin

    Procedure

    1. To install DEX Browser Extension on Chrome browser, perform the following steps:
      1. Navigate to DEX Browser Extension.
      2. Click Add to Chrome.
      3. On the confirmation window, click Add extension.
    2. To install DEX Browser Extension on Edge browser, perform the following steps:
      1. Navigate to DEX Browser Extension.
      2. Click Get.
      3. On the confirmation window, click Add extension.

    Result

    The Chrome and Edge Extension is enabled by default, and when it begins monitoring web/SaaS applications, it sends the collected metrics to the ServiceNow instance.
