Enable Virtual Agent or chat

  • Enable Virtual Agent so that you can find solutions to your inquiries quickly and seamlessly, without having to wait on hold or speak to a representative over the phone.

    Before you begin

    Ensure you have installed the Glide Virtual Agent plugin [com.glide.cs.chatbot] and the plugin is active.

    Role required: sn_dex_desktop.admin

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Desktop Assistant > Configuration > Application.

      The Desktop Assistant page that provides options to modify your home page title or brief description, as well as activate notifications and the chat icon.

    2. On the Desktop Assistant page, select Use Virtual Agent (must be configured).
      For information on how to configure Virtual Agent, see Configuring Virtual Agent.
    3. Select Update.

    Result

    The virtual agent or chat icon (Virtual agent or chat icon on the Desktop Assistant home page header. Use the chat to get answers to your queries.) appears on the Desktop Assistant header.

    To open the chat window, select the virtual agent or chat icon (The virtual agent chat icon).

    The chat window opens.
