Define release scope using product enhancements and versions

    • Define the release scope of digital products by adding product features, enhancements, versions, and work items.​

    Before you begin

    With the Digital Product Release v1.3, you can add product enhancements to a product's version instead of product features. The product enhancements enable you to plan product features across multiple product versions.

    When you upgrade to Digital Product Release v1.3, a product enhancement is created for each existing product feature and linked to the respective versions. Also, all existing links between Work Items and product features are replaced with links to the corresponding product enhancements.     About this task

    Note:
    When a Plan Version from the DevOps data model is mapped to a Software Model in DPR, any Work Items associated with that Plan Version get automatically listed in the Release scope page. If a work item is associated with a product enhancement, it shows as a child under that product enhancement in the list. You can track these work items on the Release scope page of a product release.

    This option is available when you have selected the Auto-create product versions from plan versions while associating the product with a plan from ServiceNow® Agile Development 2.0, Jira, or GitLab.

    The mappings between plan versions and software models are stored in the Plan Version to Software Models (sn_devops_m2m_plan_version_software_model) table. The mappings between work items and plan versions are stored in the Work Item to Release Versions (sn_devops_m2m_work_item_plan_version) table.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Workspaces > Digital Product Release Workspace.
    2. Select the products icon (Products icon.).
    3. Select a product from the list to open.
    4. Add features and enhancements to the product.
    5. Request a new version for a product.
