Request a new digital product

  • Request a new product to manage features, enhancements, and versions.

    Before you begin

    • Identify, prioritize, and create a backlog of features and enhancements required for the product.
    • Define a roadmap of product features and enhancements to be included across multiple versions.
    • Plan each version of the product requirements.

    Role required: sn_dpr_model.product_manager

    About this task

    The Product records are saved in the Application Model [cmdb_application_product_model] table.

    If the application model has a corresponding business application, the View Business Application related link is displayed on the Product form. Select View Business Application to view details of the corresponding business application.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Workspaces > Digital Product Release Workspace.
    2. Select the products icon (Products icon.).
    3. Select Request product for a new product.
    4. On the Request new product dialog box, provide the product's name, owner, and short description.
    5. Select Submit.

    Result

    • A request is submitted to create a product.
    • The Request Product flow is triggered that auto-approves the request and creates the product.
      Note:
      You can modify the Request Product flow in Flow Designer according to your business needs.
    • The new product is listed in the Products list.
    • A DevOps app corresponding to the product is also created.
