  • Assign the Major incident manager (major_incident_manager) role to existing users to manage, analyze, and resolve major incidents.

    About this task

    As a Major incident manager (major_incident_manager), you can do the following actions:

    • Promote a major incident candidate to a major incident.
    • Create a major incident candidate.
    • Manage the major incident process and resolve major incidents.

    Before you begin

    You must activate the Major Incident Management plugin in Service Operations Workspace. For more information, see Activate Major Incident Management in Service Operations Workspace.

    Role required: admin

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to All > Service Operations Workspace > Configurations.
    2. On the Admin Center page, navigate to the configuration page for Major Incident Management through either the Overview tab or the Configurations tab.
      • In the Overview tab, select the Configure button in the Major Incident Management section.
      • In the Configurations tab, select Major Incident Management.
      The configuration page displays all configurable features in Major Incident Management. In the Major Incident Management section, you can view the number of users who currently have the major_incident_manager role assigned.
    3. On the Major Incident Managers section, select Configure.
      The Major Incident Manager page contains the following tabs:
      • MI Managers: List of users that have the major_incident_manager role.
      • Available users: List of users to whom you can assign the major_incident_manager role.
    4. Select the Available users tab.
    5. Select a user and assign the role by selecting Assign MI Manager.
      The user is also added to the list of users on the MI Managers tab.
