# Migrate from the standalone Microsoft Defender for Cloud Integration to the Microsoft Defender Integration for Security Exposure Management {#ariaid-title1}

Migrate your existing data from the standalone Microsoft Defender for Cloud Integration application to the unified Microsoft Defender Integration for Security Exposure Management application.

## Before you begin

Role required: admin

## About this task

Migrate to the unified Microsoft Defender Integration for Security Exposure Management application to consolidate your security data and take advantage of enhanced features. This migration
preserves your existing configuration and data from the standalone application.{#mstvm-migrate__mstvm-migrate-context-1}

## Procedure

1. Uninstall the standalone application.
   1. Navigate to AllAdmin CenterApplication ManagerInstalled.
   2. Search for the Microsoft Defender for Cloud Integration plugin.
   3. Open the plugin record.
   4. In the Quick Actions section, select Uninstall.
   5. Select OK to confirm.

2. Run the data migration job.
   1. Navigate toAllSystem DefinitionScheduled Jobs.
   2. Search for Migrate data of Microsoft Defender for Cloud Integration for Security Operations.
   3. Open the job and select Execute Now.
   4. Monitor the job log to confirm that the migration completed successfully.  
      Note:  
      If you're not prompted to run the migration job, your instance does not contain data from the standalone application.

3. Configure the Microsoft Defender Integration for Security Exposure Management plugin.
