Configure watchdog

  • Use the watchdog configuration page to create new or update existing watchdogs with conditions that you want to specify. You can enable the notification for each watchdog, and get notified when the conditions are met.

    Before you begin

    Role required: sn_sec_cmn.admin

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Workspaces > Security Exposure Management Workspace.
    2. Select Administration in the navigation pane.
    3. Select Review on the Watchdogs tile.
    4. Select the watchdog that you want to implement.
    5. On the form, fill in the fields.

      Field Description
      Name Name of the watchdog.
      Active Set the check box to true to enable the watchdog.
      Condition type Choose from Filter or Script.
      Advanced condition This field appears only when Script is selected from Condition type.
      Table Select table to run the watchdog condition.
      Condition Condition to evaluate the watchdog.
      Notify Check box to notify the groups or users if the watchdog condition is met.
      Users List of users to be informed if the watchdog condition is met.
      Groups Group to be informed if the watchdog condition is met.
      Watch log
      Watchdog Reference to the watchdog table.
      Count Number of records that meet the watchdog criteria.
      Notes Additional notes for the watchdog logs.
    6. Select Update.
