Use the Rich Content widget content authoring shortcuts to create and edit rich content directly from the employee portal. When you use the widget shortcuts, the system generates a publish plan to deliver the content to that
specific widget.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_cd.content_manager

## About this task

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllSelf ServiceEmployee Center.
2. Enable the Author view toggle.
The Add content and Edit content icons appear above the Rich Content widget.
3. Click the Add content or Edit content icon.
   * If you click Add content, the new content form opens. Follow the Rich content creation flow to create a content record and assemble the rich content. See [Create rich content](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/fPoBD05JJqCXyI~GMzY7KQ "Use the Rich Content Editor to build long form content with an easy to use web styled tool.").
   * If you click Edit content, the Rich Content Editor opens where you can edit the content as needed.

4. Select Save and Finish to return to the content record.
5. Click Save and continue or the Publish tab.
The system auto-populates a publish plan that targets the content to the widget.

## What to do next

If necessary, modify the publish plan. See [Create a publish plan for your content](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/Q~O~DP17cxjKkIguzXi87w "After you create content in the Content Library, add one or more publish plans to control where the content is delivered, the audience, and the period of time it is available.").
