# Setup the Journey designer version 2 plan configuration review and approval

ServiceNow administrators configure the Journey designer plan
configuration feature and process.

Administrators assign the initial owners and approvers to Journey designer plan
configurations.

In Journey designer version 2, administrators can assign plan configuration owners and
approvers, delegating plan configuration and maintenance. Delegating plan configuration
maintenance enables people with the right expertise to maintain plan configurations.  
Administrators can assign owners and approvers of plan configurations associated with departments to users in that department who are responsible for the content. Plan configuration owners and approvers don't need any elevated privileges in ServiceNow.  
Important:  
It's optional to assign owners and approvers to a plan configuration. Administrators have full capabilities to update and create plan configurations regardless whether there's an assigned owner.
