Use the planning console to remove a dependency that is no longer necessary.

## Before you begin

Role required: it_project_manager

## About this task

Removing the dependency also deletes the dependency record in the Planned Task
Relationship table.

## Procedure

1. Open the project in the planning console.
2. Do either of the following.

   | Option | Description |
   | On the Gantt chart | * Right-click the relationship and then click Delete Link. * Double-click the relationship and then click Delete on the Planned Task Relationship form that appears. |
   | On the WBS list | * Delete the value in the Predecessor column. * Click the value in the Predecessor column and then click Delete on the Planned Task Relationship form that appears. |
