Use Customer Service Management guided setup to import existing accounts and contacts.

## Before you begin

Role required: admin

## About this task

After importing customer account data, you must also [set the account code
system property](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/5ldXy1q7_76Yja9EQL0FVg "After importing customer account information, update the com.snc.cs_base.last.generated.code.tree.path property with the correct account code value.").

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllCustomer ServiceAdministrationGuided Setup and click Get Started.
2. In the Foundation Data category, click Get Started.
3. Click one of the following:
   * Import Accounts
   * Import Contacts
   {#import-csm-accounts__choices_znc_tyh_rlb}
4. Upload data from an external data source into an import set.
5. Create a transform map.
6. Execute the transform map to transfer the data.
7. Verify that the data records are imported into the target table.
